Thomas J. Henry Helps Thousands of Texas Elementary Students Receive Free School Supplies

TEXAS YES Project wants to thank philanthropist and prominent injury attorney, Thomas J. Henry, for continuing his passion to help children receive essential school supplies for educational success. Henry has been supporting the organization for eight years now, with his generous financial and volunteer support. Mr. Henry began supporting the Box of Dreams program in San Antonio, but it has since expanded to Austin, Corpus Christi, and now the Dallas and Fort-Worth areas. “We are grateful for the support we receive each year from Mr. Henry, which has allowed us to expand into three new school districts this year in San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and Austin.” Danielle Gunter, Executive Director for TEXAS YES, said.

A Stepping Stone to Success

When a new school year begins, the significance of starting off on the right foot cannot be underestimated. Recognizing this, Thomas J. Henry embarked on a mission to equip students with the essential tools they need for a successful educational journey. This August, 85,000 school supply kits were thoughtfully distributed to 174 schools spanning four key Texas markets: San Antonio, Dallas/Fort Worth, Corpus Christi, and Austin.

San Antonio witnessed 30,000 kits being delivered to school districts including Harlandale ISD, Edgewood ISD, San Antonio ISD, South San ISD, and Southwest ISD. Meanwhile, the Dallas/Fort Worth area received 35,000 kits, benefiting Dallas ISD, Fort Worth ISD, and Carrolton-Farmers Branch ISD.

Austin and Corpus Christi each received 10,000 kits, aiding students in Del Valle ISD, Manor ISD, Corpus Christi ISD, Gregory-Portland ISD.

A Vision Shared: Thomas J. Henry’s Dedication to Educational Empowerment

For Thomas J. Henry, the motivation behind this initiative is clear: empowering children to dream, learn, and achieve. Expressing his sentiment, he shared, “Starting out a school year with essential supplies is crucial to a child’s educational development. It all starts at an elementary school level with children. If we get involved and help those kids, it’s going to help all of us in the future.”

The numbers speak volumes: a remarkable 660,000 students have experienced the generosity of the Box of Dreams program, with Thomas J. Henry personally impacting the lives of over 348,000 students.
