Why CommuniCare Supports TEXAS YES
TEXAS YES Project Receives Over $10,000 To Help Boost Educational Equality
We were honored to receive a $10,600 donation from the Sugar Factory at the Riverwalk in San Antonio. Their unwavering support of the TEXAS YES mission helps us provide free school supplies and greater access to literacy to Title 1 elementary students. Gil Rodriguez serves as the general manager for Sugar Factory San Antonio. Gil shares why they chose to support TEXAS YES this summer.
Q: Tell our readers a little about why you support TEXAS YES.
A: When planning for our first anniversary, we wanted to not only celebrate being here for a whole year, but also celebrate the community we get to be a part of. With the timing of summer coming to an end and school about to start, we wanted to do something to help our local students and the future generation. TEXAS YES provides amazing supplies and services for students in our community and beyond, and we knew they’d be the perfect fit for this partnership. We are proud to be a company that values giving back to our community, so supporting such a great organization, especially during back-to-school season, was a no brainer.
Q: What message would you like to share to the community and students?
A: We would like to share a huge thank you to the San Antonio community that came out and helped us get the word out about TEXAS YES this month and showed up for the students in our community. We hope that as your families celebrate birthdays and milestones this year, that you’ll consider joining us at Sugar Factory. To the students, we hope that you have the best year yet, and never forget to celebrate the sweet things in life!
Q: Moving forward, what are you excited to see from TEXAS YES in the future?
A: We are so excited to have partnered with TEXAS YES and to continue to see what they do for the students of Texas in the future. We hope this is the first of many collaborations and look forward to supporting them in their mission to supply our communities with the tools for success.
