Taco Palenque Give Back

This past March, TEXAS YES Project was proud to partner with South Texas dining staple, Taco Palenque for a month long fundraising event. Taco Palenque guests were offered the opportunity to show their support for Title I schools in Texas by donating $1 or $5 dollars to TEXAS YES Project. Participating locations in San Antonio, Schertz, and the New Braunfels area showcased customer support by writing their name on a book decal, to be displayed in the restaurants.

As a token of our incredible appreciation for the support of the Taco Palenque family, our team would like to shine a spotlight on their philanthropic nature that led to their involvement with TEXAS YES programming. When asked about their support and goals for partnership with TEXAS YES, Taco Palenque Family-Owner, Jose Ochoa, stated, “We are extremely proud to partner with TEXAS YES and support their mission of helping Title 1 Elementary students across Texas. Their incredible work helps shape the future leaders of our community and we are grateful to contribute to a great cause.”

Funds raised through this program will go on to support the essential programming provided by TEXAS YES Project, including Box of Dreams, Little Lockers, and Yes Grants. Of these initiatives, the Taco Palenque team noted that ‘Box of Dreams” was their “most anticipated program to be a part of this coming August”. We invite all community partners to save the date for the ‘Box of Dreams’ school supply distribution (August 9th-19th, 2024). More information regarding the opportunity to be part of this program and distribute 75,000 school supply kits, to more than 170 schools in 13 school districts across Texas, will be available this coming June!
