Q: What message would you like to share with the community and students?

At MPC, our community investment strategy is centered around strengthening communities and helping make people’s lives better. Our message to the community and students is to know that MPC is a great supporter of education because, through literacy and education, you can take charge of the future you want for yourselves and each other. MPC is dedicated and excited to see the students and community this coming August for another year of distributing free school supplies to the partnered campuses across Texas.

Q: Please share you/your employee’s experience during the 2023 Box of Dreams.

Daniel Bernal, Transport Scheduling Manager, volunteered at the Box of Dreams in August 2023. His experience through the program was so impactful to see the smiles and laughter that filled the cafeteria. One of our team members dressed up as a “Trolls” character, which the students loved, and it was a great addition to the celebration for the first week of school. It makes us feel like we are all one community and a place where we are proud to live and work.

Q: What is a goal Marathon has by supporting TEXAS YES during the 2024 Box of Dreams?   

Through our support for the Box of Dreams program, we hope that students will take each school supply item and apply it to wholistically learning, to the best of their ability. Our goal through supporting the communities partnered with TEXAS YES is to encourage and share that our wish for them and their classmates is to succeed during their school year and beyond while knowing that MPC is rooting for them.

Q: Moving forward, what are you excited to see from TEXAS YES in the future?

We are excited to see how TEXAS YES continues to provide students with the resources they need to develop their literacy and education goals. It is fun to learn how MPC can become more involved through the different programs offered, YES Grants, Reading Partners and the multiple volunteer opportunities that are offered throughout the year that in turn impact the communities they serve.
