TEXAS YES continues to expand its Little Locker Project, bringing books and educational resources directly to students through Little Locker installations at schools across Texas. This student literacy program is designed to increase book access for students across the state and encourage reading outside of the classroom.

Recently, Little Locker unveiling events were held at José Cárdenas Early Childhood Education Center in San Antonio and Gilbert Elementary School in Austin, highlighting the impact of the TEXAS YES Little Locker Project in local school communities. At each campus, students gathered as the Little Locker was unveiled and then had the opportunity to explore the books inside and choose one to take home. These events brought students together in a way that felt both celebratory and meaningful, while reinforcing the importance of having books readily available for students across Texas.

The Little Locker Project reflects TEXAS YES’s ongoing commitment to supporting students through greater access to books, literacy resources, and meaningful learning opportunities. As the program continues to expand, more students are given the chance to engage with reading in a way that extends beyond the classroom and into their daily routines. Consistent access to books helps support academic development while also helping students stay engaged, build confidence, and develop a deeper interest in learning. By placing these resources directly in schools and communities, TEXAS YES is creating lasting impact through simple, accessible solutions that meet students where they are and support long-term educational growth.
